Our Board of Trustees
My name is Azik Chowdhury, and for over two years I have worked with Shropshire Supports Refugees, SSR.
I met Amanda while we were both on a mental health training course, and when she told me what she did, I was very interested, since my family and I came to the U.K. as refugees.
My day job is working as a business analyst with organisations, both in the private and public sector. Over 25 years I have worked with Jaguar Land Rover, Guinness, Sainsburys, The Cabinet Office, Ministry of Defence, and Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman. Currently, I am working with AO.com.
My roles as a business analyst are to identify problem areas within a business. Whether they are processes, or systems, and work with the organisation to improve the current issues. I am looking to bring those disciplines to SSR.
I have two sons, and we are keen football fans, and have season ticket for Manchester City, although I am a Charlton Athletic fan, since I grew up in London, two miles from their ground.
Outside of work, I am an author, and I write fiction. I have written two books. A Muslim Boy, and The Refugee, and so far, they have been received well. I am currently working on a third story.
I am looking forward to working with SSR in my capacity as a trustee.
