From a welcome, to a movement.
Since 2016, Shropshire Supports Refugees has been helping people rebuild their lives and find their place in a new community.
What began with a small group of people collecting clothes, toys and essential supplies for newly arrived families has grown into a trusted, expert-led charity supporting thousands of displaced people across Shropshire.
Today, we do far more than provide practical support. We offer advice, advocacy, English language learning, wellbeing support, community activities and connections that help people move forward with confidence. We bring communities together, challenge misconceptions and create opportunities for refugees and migrants to be heard, valued and included.
At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: everyone deserves to feel safe, welcome and able to build a future.
For almost a decade, our community has shown what is possible when people choose compassion over indifference and connection over division.
We started by welcoming people. Today, we’re helping them belong, thrive and shape the communities they call home.
