About us

Shropshire Supports Refugees (SSR) was established in 2016 to bring relief and support to vulnerable families displaced by unrest in their home countries relocating to Shropshire.

We are a community-based, expert-led advice, support and advocacy organisation for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Shropshire.

We take an inclusive, empowering approach, working with people to understand what they need, then using our expertise to build services that help them build safe, independent lives.

Our welcoming, professional team is focused on respect, understanding and collaboration, amplifying migrant voices and raising awareness of migrants' rights to build stronger, more welcoming communities across Shropshire.

"We challenge sterotypes and perceptions of who refugees and asylum seekers are and what they can achieve"
